Schiltz Genealogy

Joannes Schiltz was born November. 23, 1827 in Luxembourg, Germany.  He died March 24, 1902 and was buried in Westphalia, Iowa.

Maria Mert was born March 2, 1832 in Bavaria, Germany.  She died Oct. 19, 1867 and was buried in Westphalia, Iowa.

There is no known history of how and when they migrated to America.  Records show their marriage took place June 12, 1857 in Freeport, Illinois.  Records also show they moved from Illinois to Iowa in 1883.
